Gopal Jee, a young scientist from Naugachhia in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district, has crafted a lunar exploration rover, showcasing a remarkable achievement.
He said that each year, NASA sorts through new concepts, picking a small number for additional assessment. Their NGO, along with thirty other teams from other nations, was one of the three selected teams from India that made a global impression. The important assessment is scheduled for April 19 and 20.

At 24, Gopal Jee stated that he hoped NASA would approve the project and that his NGO, YMARD, would be prepared to lead it if selected, guaranteeing the team proper credit. With pride, he mentioned, “My NGO, YMARD, comprises 13 children recruited from different high schools nationwide, all of whom received training for this endeavor under my mentorship.”

A month of intense work was needed to create the rover with the goal of improving navigation and understanding of the lunar terrain. At a cost of Rs 10 lakh, the M3M Foundation provided funding for the project’s execution in Gurugram.
Gopal underlined their determination to create history by going for the gold this year and asking for crucial assistance. Despite multiple offers from NASA, his commitment remained steadfast. His readiness to work with ISRO demonstrated his commitment to furthering India’s space development endeavors.

Who is Gopal Jee?
Gopal Jee is a young Indian scientist. He has been in the news because he developed a lunar rover, aiming for NASA approval and global recognition.
He was born and raised in Naugachhia, Bhagalpur district, Bihar. Gopal did his schooling at the Model High School, Tulsipur.
The young scientist is currently 24 years old.
His career
Throughout his career, Gopal Jee has held a variety of jobs, including leadership responsibilities at Young Mind Research and Development (YMRD) in Patna and independent scientific work under the Government of India in New Delhi.
He worked as a brand ambassador for iSmart in New Delhi and was employed as a research director by Navneet Industries – India in Jaipur and GEU ACM in Dehra Dun. Simultaneously, he has been committed to YMRD, having founded the Mentoring Team Kaizel-YMRD and served as Chairman.
He is still leading innovation now as Chief Scientist at Pacfo | Your Packaging Partner in Faridabad. Notably, his achievements include representing India at NASA HERC 2024.
