Climbing experts are skeptical after parents claimed that their 8-year-old son Sam Baker has climbed the El Capitan cliff face which is a popular and world’s hardest rock wall climbs
Media including CNN and ABC reported that Sam Baker had set a new record for being one of the youngest person to climb the 3,000-foot-high granite monolith with his dad Joe and a teammate this month.

Sam Baker Climbed El Captain
You may remember El Capitan from the award-winning documentary named the Free Solo. The film follows a professional climber Alex Honnold as Alex who has attempted the first free solo climb which is climbing with no rope of the popular climbing spot.
It is massively considered as one of the most challenging climbs all across the globe and only a very select group of elite climbers can manage the feat.
According to reports of the Yosemite national park website, ‘At more than 3,000 feet above the valley floor, it is 2.5 times as tall as the Empire State Building, or more than 3 times as high as the tip of the famous Eiffel Tower. It is considered as one of the largest exposed granite faces on the globe.’

Sam Baker is a little boy who is reported to have broken the record for being the youngest person to climb El Captain. Baker is the son of two climbing enthusiasts named Joe and Ann.
As per Sam’s family “Samuel actually has the middle name Adventure. He’s a really cool kid who loves to ride his bike at “gecko speed”. He also enjoys doing science experiments with his mom and he is always climbing up everything.
Samuel is way ahead of his class when it comes to rock climbing. At six and a half he was able to climb 5.10s at the rock gym. However many people are shocked by the news of Sam climbing El Captain.
