On Monday, the Secret Service reported that a U-Haul truck crashed into the security barricades encircling Lafayette Square, which is located across from the White House. The Park Police identified the driver as Sai Varshith Kandula, who was apparently carrying a Nazi flag with him.
Sai Varshith Kandula: Who Is He?
Indian origin 19 year Sai Varshith Kandula is a Missouri native who was born in 2003. Tweets indicate that Kandula graduated from Marquette High School. According to a law enforcement source, the suspect is an American citizen.
On May 23, 2023, Kandula rammed a U-Haul into the White House gates.
Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the Secret Service, tweeted that the incident occurred just before 10 p.m.
According to Guglielmi, “We are still investigating the incident to determine its cause and specifics. No Secret Service or White House employees were hurt during the crash.”
The Police Investigated The Suspect And The Truck
Policemen were inspecting the truck, and the back was opened at 11 p.m. The robots were being employed to search for any potentially hazardous items inside.
Guflielmi said, “The truck has been deemed safe by D.C. police, and the preliminary investigation reveals the driver may have intentionally struck the barriers.”
After pulling onto Lafayette Square, he allegedly threatened US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. There were no weapons or explosives in the automobile.
Authorities have verified that the driver is facing accusations of assault with a deadly weapon and threatening to harm the president, vice president, or their families.
According to a source, the FBI was involved in the investigation and that the man was not on any watch lists. Overnight checks showed that he did not appear to have a significant criminal past.

The driver was apprehended and charged with trespassing, destroying government property, assaulting with a dangerous weapon, careless driving, and making threats of death, kidnapping, or other harm against the president, vice president, or a member of their family, according to U.S. Park Service officers.
