The body of Jay Dipesh Savla, a 25-year-old third-year PG resident at Safdarjung Hospital, was found hanged inside his rented apartment in a terrible occurrence that happened in Delhi’s Gautam Nagar.

A 25-year-old resident doctor from Safdarjung Hospital allegedly died by suicide at his South Delhi home Friday evening. The distressing discovery was brought to the attention of authorities when Savla’s landlady made a PCR call to the Hauz Khas Police Station on Friday afternoon. When the police finally got on the scene, they discovered Jay was hanging from the ceiling fan with a bed sheet.
The South Delhi district crime team was called to the scene in order to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the facts. Jay Dipesh Savla was rushed to AIIMS hospital, but upon arrival, doctors declared him dead. The autopsy was then performed at the hospital.
Soon, Jay’s father received word over the phone that his son had passed away. After interviewing Jay’s family members, law enforcement personnel concluded that there was no proof of foul play in the unfortunate incident. After finding a suicide note, police also concluded that he had taken his life because he had been suffering from depression for some time.
In accordance with protocol, Jay’s father received his corpse, and a report about the police’s investigation into his suicide was formally submitted in accordance with Section 174 A of the Criminal Code of Procedure.

25 year old Jay Dipesh Savla was a PG-resident medical student. He has been in the news because he ended his life recently after suffering from depression.
He was a resident of Kandivali, Mumbai, Maharashtra. However, at the time of his death, he was living in a hostel located in Gautam Nagar, Delhi, on rent. His father’s name is Dipesh Ratilal Savla, and he is also a doctor.
Jay Dipesh Savla had an excellent academic record and a very strong NEET-PG rank. He also attended King Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai. He participated actively in online teaching and clinical situations as a junior resident at Safdarjung. At the time of his death, he was doing his PG residency at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, and was in his third year.
Apart from studies, Jay possessed a black belt in martial arts, was a FIDE-rated chess player, and was a licensed scuba diver. He also competed in the cricket and carrom games at the Indian Doctors’ Olympics, which the Indian Medical Association held in Nashik last year.
