On Monday, July 4, the Cops intercepted Robert Bobby Crimo III in North Lake Forest, Chicago after 7:00 P.M. local time. He was last spotted driving his silver Honda Fit. Later the photographs surfaced which showed that Crimo was being pinned to the ground face-down by the police.

According to reports, 6 people were killed on Monday, July 4, after Crimo opened fire from the rooftop with a powerful rifle at the Parade in Chicago’s suburb of Highland Park.
The Highland Park Police Chief, Lou Jogmen described Crimo as “very dangerous”. He also said that the crowd panicked and ran for their lives as the gunman opened fire from a nearby rooftop. He also said that the shooting began at around 10:14 A.M.
The Police Commander, Chris O’Neil said that the gunman had a “high-powered rifle” and that he used it to fire from the top of a building. According to the police department, a rifle has recovered from the crime scene.
The 5 of the 6 victims were all adults and died at the scene while the sixth was rushed to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. More than 25 victims of the age between 8 to 85 were injured in the chaos.
Who is Robert Crimo?
Crimo is an Rapper from Highland Park. He used to post rap videos online using the name Awake. In one of his songs he wrote, “My actions will be valiant and my thought is unnecessary, I know what I have to do, I know what’s in it, not only for me, but for everyone else”.
These words were set with the drawings of a figure who looked more like Crimo with pointing a gun. A newspaper cut out about the JFK’ murderer Lee Harvey Oswald is also visible at one point.
Crimo’s father Bob Crimo, ran for the mayor of the town in 2019 but it doesn’t appear as though he was backed by any political party.

According to his IMDB Page, Crimo was born on Sept 20, 2000. He was professionally known as Awake The Rapper. He was famous because of his hit song ‘On My Mind’ which was released on October 8, 2018 and became a sensation at that time. The track has millions of plays so far across online streaming platforms.
The clues for his plan at the parade were uploaded to his YouTube channel ZeroTwo in a vlog style. An uploaded video on his channel showed an illustration of a mass shooting and another video showed where the Massacre will take place.
One of the videos even showed an illustration of a police officer shooting at him. The shooting at Highland Park came amid all the discussions that are happening to curb the gun violence in the wake of the Uvalde School Shooting.
