Jeremy André de León Rodríguez is a professional football player who was born on March 18, 2004, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He currently plays as a forward for Spanish club Real Madrid Castilla. The young footballer is renowned for his pace and quick reflexes, as well as his ball-handling skills and technicality, coupled with his upper body strength.

Club career

Jeremy de Leon started out his journey in football with a local team called Hispania FA. At the young age of nine, Jeremy received a call for a trial from Sevilla. The following year in April 2014, he received an invitation to travel to Spain and take part in a youth competition. The invitation also included a trial with Málaga and a second training camp with Sevilla.

Notably, Valencia-based International Development Academy first spotted de Leon while competing for GPS Puerto Rico in the 2019 Sheffield Cup. De Leon and his family eventually relocated to Spain to further his football career. The youngster eventually joined CD Castellón’s youth team during the winter of 2021-2022.

He scored an impressive twenty-three goals in thirteen games and was the U19 league’s leading scorer. Following his impressive performances, he gained interest from top clubs like Barcelona, Almería, Sevilla, Real Betis, Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid during the spring of 2022. By May of 2022, Jeremy de Leon finally agreed to a two-year deal with Castellón. That same month, he made his team debut during a match against Villarreal B following which Valencia began looking for loan alternatives.

Leon mainly plays as a forward on the wings. He is a free-floating speedster with lightning pace and great agility and reaction. The youngster usually creates gaps and openings with his quick, off-the-ball movements to dominate opponents. So far this season, he had not had much goal contributions as he has provided just one assist across 11 league appearances. With players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, Real Madrid currently have one of the most lethal wing attacks and De Leon’s arrival further adds to that list.
