Rasheel Bailey was reportedly shot in his hometown in Fort Myers. Popular fisherman and Rasheel Bailey’s friend Chris Zaldain provided an update, writing, “Hey, all, Rasheel’s family is taking good care of him in private. I spoke with someone close to the family and can tell you he is going to be ok.” Many including friends, have took to social media to wish him a speedy recovery but his family has not confirmed the news.

As per the Fort Myers police, the shooting took place on 2 May 2024 along Martin Luther King Boulevard and Michigan Avenue. After being shot, Rasheel was driving a red Honda Sonata. Law enforcement officials were informed by witnesses that someone in a Ford Expedition opened fire at oncoming vehicles.

The Honda went off course, crossed the median, and collided with a Ford F-150 as a result of the gunfire. Janet Maiocco saw the incident while she was driving the car right behind the F-150.

28-year-old Rasheel Bailey aka Hoodfishing is a South-West Florida based fisher who is known for catching a shark with his bare hands in 2024. This video gathered millions of views. After catching the shark, he released it into the gulf waters.

Bailey is a graduate from Cape Coral High School. He began his fishing company in 2020. His company, HoodFishing Entertainment provides people with an opportunity to explore South West Florida and enjoy fishing.

Bailey used to play varsity football, but according to his website, he always wanted to be a fisherman. He posts updates about his life experiences and fishing exploits on social media. His fishing trips mostly take him through some of the most well-known locales in Southwest Florida, including Fort Myers, Naples, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, and surrounding areas.

Bailey has garnered more than 700k Instagram followers and 280k YouTube subscribers.

James Ford, also known on Instagram as FordFishing352, shared a photo of the two of them along with the caption, “praying for a speedy recovery.”

One follower of Rasheel wrote, “I pray you’re doing ok brother… Move around. Haters gone do they best to snuff out your light. Don’t let them.” He asked him to go somewhere where he is safe.
