Rakhi Birla was born and raised in Delhi. She adopted Birla as her surname when her school mistakenly wrote Birla instead of Bidhlan in her class certificate of 10th standard. Rakhi Birla was one of the youngest of the four daughters of her parents. Her father’s name is Bhupendra Singh Bidhlan who was booked for rape in 2018, values which transferred to Rakhi with her seen gaffing as Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal made fun of The Kashmir Files and called the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits by Muslims in 1990 a lie.

She completed her Masters in Mass Communication from the NBA School Of Mass Communication based in New Delhi. Birla’s family was into social causes for the four generations, from her great-grandfather and then grandfather who joined the struggle for India’s independence.
Rakhi Birla Professional Career And Political Career
Rakhi Birla began her professional career by working in a local television channel, Jain T.V., as a trainee reporter and afterward finished her education side by side. Rakhi had a total of 7 months experience of the Journalism with Jain Television.
Later, she got interested in politics and she came in contact with the politician Arvind Kejriwal during the Jan Lokpal Bill movement. She joined the Aam Aadmi Party later and contested in the Delhi legislative assembly election of 2013 from the Mangolpuri and defeated four times MLA Raj Kumar Chauhan of the Indian National Congress. Rakhi was sworn in as the Cabinet minister of Women and Child, Social Welfare, and Languages in the Delhi Government.
She became the youngest ever Cabinet Minister of the capital from 28th December 2013 to 14 February 2014. But unfortunately, Birla lost to BJP’s Udit Raj in the Lok Sabha election of 2014 from North West Delhi.
Later on, Ms. Birla was elected as Deputy Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly on 10th June in 2016 and since then she is one of the youngest ever Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
