In the middle of the developing Delhi liquor policy crisis, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the Rouse Avenue court on 29th March 2024.

Kejriwal revealed in a series of revelations an important meeting he had with Magunta, describing how the latter had come to him looking for property. Seven statements unfolded from Kejriwal’s mouth, yet only one mentioned a figure named Magunta.
The court issued an expeditious and definitive ruling after the hearing. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) won, and Kejriwal was placed on remand till 1st April. But in the middle of the legal flurry, Kejriwal revealed Magunta Srinivas’s involvement in the incident, which dramatically changed the course of the story.
According to Kejriwal, Magunta Srinivas requested land in order to establish a trust. He was instructed to submit the proposal on this, and the Delhi government would forward it to the LG. However, the father’s testimony altered when the ED stormed Srinivasulu’s residence and took the son into custody.

Who is Raghav Magunta?
Raghav Magunta is well-known for being the son of TDP lawmaker Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy. He has been in the news because Arvind Kejriwal uttered his name while appearing before the Rouse Avenue court in relation to the Delhi liquor policy scam.
He was born and brought up in Nellore, Andra Pradesh. His father is Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, a renowned TDP politician and his mother is Geeta Latha Magunta. He also has one brother.
He owned a 32.5% ownership in Indo Spirits via Prem Rahul Manduri, a proxy. In addition, he owns liquor production facilities in Chennai operating under the name Enrica Enterprises Private Limited.
In cooperation with a number of others, Raghav Magunta allegedly plotted the Delhi Excise Duty Policy 2021–22 scheme. He is among the conspiracy’s principal players. As a member of the South Cartel, Raghav benefited from a scheme in which the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received payments from the South Group totaling about ₹100 crore.
