Sudiksha Konanki goes missing
Sudiksha Konanki is an Indian-origin student studying in the United States who reportedly went missing last week. Konanki went missing while out vacationing with a group of students in Punta Cana. According to officials, Sudiksha was last seen going for a walk on the beach before going missing. A spokesperson for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, who are conducting the investigations, stated:
Our office was contacted on Thursday evening about a missing female from Loudoun County who was with a group of other people traveling in the Dominican Republic.”
The University of Pittsburgh also released an official statement confirming that they are in touch with Sudiksha’s family and local authorities in Virginia. Sudiksha’s case gained significant attention, as many travelers remain cautious while traveling in the area. With the search currently ongoing, Sudiksha’s loved ones are still hopeful for her safe return.
Sudiksha was staying at the Riu República hotel with five female friends before she disappeared and the hotel chain said that they have been “working closely with local authorities, including the Police and Navy” to help “carry out a thorough search.”

The 20-year-old was last seen at the Riu Republica Resort beach on March 6 around 4:50 am and Sudiksha’s father, Subbarayudu Konanki, confirmed that his daughter went to Punta Cana for spring break ahead of pre-med studies at Pittsburgh. “My daughter is a very nice girl. She’s ambitious. She wanted to pursue a career in medicine,” he said.
Konanki, a resident of Loudoun County, Virginia stands at 5 feet 3 inches tall and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown bikini, large round earrings, a metal designer anklet on her right leg, yellow and steel bracelets on her right hand, and a multicoloured beaded bracelet on her left hand.
She has set her Instagram account to private.

Sudiksha Konanki is a student at the University of Pittsburgh, where she is expected to graduate next year and was set to start her pre-medical studies and aspired to become a doctor. She previously attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia.
