A man named Prince Yadav from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh was arrested for chopping a woman’s body into 6 pieces and also disposing of it in a well that was hit by a bullet in a gunfire encounter on Sunday. He was shot when he was taken to a spot for the recovery of the head of the woman.

The body of the woman who was later on identified as Aradhana was found inside a well which is situated outside Paschimi village on 15th November 2022. The body was found in a semi-naked condition and also appeared to be dumped there 3 days before.
Sarvesh, Pramila Yadav, Suman, Rajaram, Kalawati, Manju, Sheela, all of whom have allegedly helped Yadav in the crime, are still yet to be caught.
Who is Prince Yadav?
It is reported that the accused had an affair with the victim, who went to marry someone else. The woman was from the Ishaq Pur village in the Azamgarh district.
Prince Yadav had planned to kill Aradhana with the help of his parents, cousin Sarvesh, and also other family members. The victim was stated to be in her middle 20s. Prince’s motive behind killing the girl was reportedly resentment because she had married someone else and not him and due to jealousy he did so .
On the 9th of November, Prince Yadav had taken Aradhana on his bike to a temple where with the help of Sarvesh, he had strangled the victim in a sugarcane field. The duo then began to cut her body in 6 parts, pack the pieces in a polythene bag and threw it into a well. The head of the victim was in a pond a little distance away. The police officials have been able to recover a sharp-edged weapon, a country-made pistol, and a cartridge so far.
This incident has come after a case in Delhi was reported, where a 28-year-old man allegedly strangled his live-in partner and cut up her body into 35 pieces which he kept the body in a fridge for around 3 weeks.
