Police hit the wrong door in Tim Yergeau case, Internal affairs and suicide probes initiated

According to the Daily Mail, before raiding his flat, police broke down the door of his neighbour and arrested her before realising they were in the wrong place. Internal affairs and suicide probes have been started because of the event. After cops from the Special Victims Unit “obviously hit the wrong door,” Police Chief Karl Jacobson asked for an investigation into what happened. The investigation will also look into why 36 year old Yergeau killed himself after the raid.

“Unfortunately, a mistake was made,” Jacobson said. “We feel for the woman and we’re going to do everything we can to make it right. The investigation is part of holding my department accountable and transparent.”

Tim Yergeau used to be the head of strategic relations for Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. Here she worked for a while. During his time at the organisation, Tim Yergeau took part in a class where people made art and wrote letters in the PPSNE parking lot. They wrote 247 “love letters” to abortion. At the time of the event, he said that his notes might be put on display at the PPSNE office on Whitney Avenue or at one of its 14 branch offices in Connecticut and Rhode Island.

According to the organization’s website, Yergeau was named marketing and communications head of the Long Wharf Theatre in August 2022. This was after he left his job at Planned Parenthood.

Former parenthood director Tim Yergeau had ties to local theatre and library

A spokesperson for the theater said Wednesday in an email, “We are shocked and deeply saddened to learn about the developments of the last 24 hours. Given the difficult news, it would be inappropriate to comment further,” according to Daily Mail. The child pornography suspect had also worked for the New Haven Free Public Library Foundation. The abortion advocate also promoted leftist and LGBTQ causes on his social media.

Jacobson says that there are two open investigations into the case, and the police won’t release the search warrant application or information about what they found in Tim Yergeau’s flat until they are sure that no one else is involved.

Concerns have been made about how accountable and clear the police are. Safety should always come first, and steps should be done to make sure these kinds of mistakes don’t happen again.
