The first source of contention between Mousumi and Banasmita was a purported Rs 5.80 lakh cash transaction. Mousumi stated that she had given Banamsita this amount and accused her of investing it in the stock market without paying back the money as stipulated.
At the Infocity Police Station, all sides signed a compromise petition to find a solution. The conditions included Mousumi’s promise not to disparage Banasmita in any way and Banasmita’s obligation to return the money to Mousumi.
But things took a bad turn when it was said that Mousumi Nayak broke the contract by always bothering Banasmita, even though she had paid back the due money. Mousumi was charged with soliciting more money from the writer by threatening to broadcast offensive material on social media.
Citing breaches of the agreement, Banasmita then filed an official complaint against Mousumi at the Infocity Police Station. A complaint was filed against the actress by the police under sections 385, 294, 506, and 507 of the IPC. After an inquiry, Mousumi was arrested from her Chandaka home after returning from a filming assignment in Hyderabad.
In a surprising turn of events, Mousumi Nayak had earlier complained to the Chandaka Police Station, claiming that Banasmita had forced her to take part in escort services. Mousumi said that Banasmita had forced her to make stock market investments and had neglected to return the money she had deposited.
