Manav Sharma who was an employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) committed suicide, purportedly as a result of mistreatment from his wife, Nikita Sharma
On the morning of February 24, Manav Sharma was discovered hanging in his Agra residence. Officers allegedly rejected Sharma’s family’s attempt to lodge a complaint with Sadar Police after his untimely death, citing Maha Shivratri obligations. The issue was subsequently brought to the attention of the CM portal by the family.

Sadar police opened an inquiry after filing a case on Thursday night in response to a WhatsApp complaint.
Manav Sharma was the only son of Air Force retiree Narendra Kumar Sharma, who worked as a recruitment manager at TCS in Mumbai. He took his wife from Mumbai to Agra the day before he passed away, dropping her off at her parents’ home.
According to his father, Manav’s wife’s constant threats of false accusations and numerous arguments caused their marriage to be strained, which is what he feels motivated his son to take this drastic measure.
However, deceased Manav Sharma’s wife Nikita has now released a statement, saying that the allegations made by her husband Manav against her are from her past, they happened before marriage and there was nothing as claimed that took place after her marriage.
Nikita said, “There was nothing like this after marriage. Manav had tried to harm himself many times before. Once I saved his life by cutting the noose myself. But this time I was not there, I had gone to my mother’s house. Listen to me too.”
Nikita also alleged that Manav used to beat her after drinking alcohol and said, “I have tolerated a lot. People say that boys are not listened to, but no one is listening to me either. I even told his parents, but they ignored it saying it is a private matter between the husband and wife. The day Manav committed suicide, I told his sister that he is hanging himself. But she said, ‘Go to sleep, nothing will happen.’ I even messaged his father, but no one paid attention.”

Nikita further said that after Manav’s death, her in-laws misbehaved with her and pushed her out of the house and said, “Manav had left me happily at home. He took this step the same night. I felt sad after watching his video, but the allegations made against me are not true.”
On February 23, Manav and his wife returned from Mumbai and later that day, when he dropped her off at her maternal home, he was allegedly threatened by her family. The next morning, he took his own life.
Narendra Sharma, Manav’s father, a resident of Defense Colony, said that his son worked in Mumbai and got married on January 30, 2024. While the initial days were peaceful, conflicts soon arose and according to Sharma, Manav’s wife allegedly threatened him with false accusations and expressed a desire to live with her boyfriend.
25-year-old Manav had also recorded an emotional video in which he alleged that his wife was having an extramarital affair.

Sharma took his last video with one piece of fabric tied to the fan and another over his neck.
In the video, he addressed the authorities, saying, “So, this is for the authorities. Authorities as in police and law enforcement… The law needs to protect men, or otherwise there will come a time when there will be no men left. No man on whom you can shift blame….”
After taking a pause for a few seconds, he continued, “Let me share my situation. It’s the same as many others… I found out that my wife was sleeping with someone else. But never mind, let it be.”
“Dad sorry, Mummy sorry… But guys please understand, as soon as I go, everything will be fine. Everything will get better once I die. So, let me go…,” he said in the emotional video.
