Following elementary school and his father’s demise in 1974, Okafor relocated to Sapele to reside with his brother. In Sapele, he engaged in menial tasks to fund his education and support his family. He pursued a career as a hairstylist, delved into photography, and held a position at a crate-producing company.

Okafor transitioned from boxing, coaching football, and practicing karate before embarking on his acting career. He married twice during his lifetime and fathered more than 10 children, with one known to have passed away.
