For refusing to participate in conversion-nikah with him, a man by the name of Mohammed Sufiyan reportedly pushed a woman by the name of Nidhi Gupta off the fourth floor of a building. On November 15th, the incident occurred in the Dubagga region of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, Additional DCP, West Zone, an autopsy has been ordered for the victim’s body. Additionally, an FIR has been lodged against the accused Sufiyan under the relevant laws of murder and forced conversions.
Sufiyan and his other family members are reportedly on the run as a result of the incident. The location of their disagreement has been sealed up. The accusations made by the victim’s relatives in their complaint are currently the subject of a police investigation.
Since then, the incident has become a heated topic of discussion all over the country with many people expressing their disgust over it. While many people doubted forced conversation claims, others are protesting over it and asked the government to deeply look into the matter from the angle of the “Love Jihad nexus.”

How Did Mohd Sufiyan Murdered 19-Year-Old Nidhi?
Nidhi Gupta, who is 19 years old, was dating the accused Mohammed Sufiyan while she was enrolled in a beautician program. She isn’t on Instagram.
When Nidhi and her family members visited Sufiyan’s home on Tuesday to confront him about pressuring her to become Muslim and married him, they were involved in a scuffle.
Following the scuffle, Nidhi and Sufiyan went to the rooftop to talk. Soon, they also engaged in the scuffle, and Nidhi was soon thrown to the ground by Sufiyan. According to Nidhi’s relatives, Sufiyan pushed her to death because she refused to become a Muslim and perform a Nikah with him.
The young woman was sent to the trauma center at King George Medical University (KGMU), where the medical staff pronounced her dead.
According to the FIR that the girl’s family filed, the girl’s mother accused Sufiyan, who also resides in the neighborhood, of harassing Nidhi and pressuring her to marry him in accordance with Islamic customs.
According to the Zee News report, Sufiyan, the accused, said he had a “video” of Nidhi and was pressuring her to get married. Sufiyan was adamant about marrying Nidhi in a Nikah (Muslim contract marriage), which would convert her to Islam.
