On Sunday, Rexha needed three stitches when the cell phone hit her in the face. When the incident occurred, the Grammy-nominated performer was moving towards the stage’s front. With the tool, she gave him a direct blow to the face. A number of the crew members rushed to assist the 33-year-old singer when she collapsed to her knees with her head cut off.
Rexha was reportedly wounded by the phone on the upper left cheek, exactly below her eye. After the event, she was taken right away to the hospital.
Nicolas Malvagna: Who is He?
New Jersey native Nicolas Malvagna, 27, was born and raised there. He had been detained and was facing assault charges.
Security removed Malvagna from the scene after fans identified the perpetrator as Rexha’s fan who threw the phone. His escort from the scene was met with chants of “That’s assault.”. Some people began to jeer and boo, calling him an “a**hole.”
According to an NYPD spokeswoman, the assault happened on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at around 2200 hours, inside the boundaries of the 1st Precinct, at the Pier 17 performance venue, which is located at 89 South Street. According to a preliminary inquiry conducted at the site, a man performer, 27, deliberately hurled a cell phone at a female performer, 33, injuring her in the face.
The person was detained on the spot and taken to the 1st Precinct for arrest procedures. The assisted female was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS and is currently in stable condition.
Four of Rexha’s following tour dates are set for the following week. It was unclear if she would be able to finish her tour despite her wounds.
