Pelissero stated that he had interviews arranged with the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers for their open head coaching positions, but he is staying put after his second interview with the organisation on Monday.
Who is Brian Callahan?
Brian Callahan is an American football coach who was born on June 10, 1984, in Champaign, Illinois, U.S. The 39-year-old is presently the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL).
A look at Brian Callahan’s career
Brian Callahan’s fifth season as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator just ended for the 39-year-old. When Zac Taylor took the Cincinnati head coaching position, he joined him on board. Having started as a Denver Broncos coaching assistant in 2010, he has 13 years of NFL coaching experience under his belt.
2010 saw Brian Callahan join the Denver Broncos as a coaching assistant, where he started his NFL coaching career. Throughout the 2015 NFL season, he served in a variety of capacities for the team. He then joined the Detroit Lions as quarterbacks coach in 2016 and the Oakland Raiders in 2018.
Callahan joined the Cincinnati Bengals on February 7, 2019, to take over as offensive coordinator. Joe Burrow’s progress at quarterback has been aided by him, as he has been the offensive coordinator for the Bengals since 2019.
He was a member of the Bengals when, on January 22, 2022, they upset the top-seeded Titans in the AFC divisional stage of the playoffs. Cincinnati proceeded to the Super Bowl, but the Los Angeles Rams defeated them there.
Callahan has spent the last five seasons as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator and has largely found success when Burrow has been healthy and began his career in 2010 as a coaching assistant with the Broncos. He was first hired to be a part of Josh McDaniels’ staff but was retained after the second-year coach’s ouster and from there, Callahan climbed the ladder as a part of John Fox’s staff.
He served as an offensive quality control coach for two seasons before being elevated into an offensive assistant role for his final three seasons with the Broncos and won Super Bowl 50 as a part of Gary Kubiak’s staff and that helped him to land a job with the Lions as their quarterbacks coach.
Callahan spent two seasons under Jim Caldwell working with Matthew Stafford and the quarterback averaged a 65.5 percent completion rate while throwing for 8,773 yards, 53 touchdowns and 20 interceptions and posting a passer rating of 96.2 across those two seasons.
