Kushal Malla’s Career
In September 2019, for the Oman Pentangular Series and the Singapore Tri-Nation Series, Malla was a member of the Nepalese team. In the Singapore Tri-Nation Series on September 27, 2019, Kushal Malla played his maiden T20 international for Nepal against Zimbabwe.
In January 2020, Kushal was selected for the Nepal Tri-Nation Series One Day International (ODI) team. Malla participated in his first-ever ODI for Nepal on February 8, 2020, against the United States. By scoring 50 runs from 51 balls in the game, Malla set the record for the youngest male cricketer to score a half-century on an international stage at the age of 15 years and 340 days.
The Cricket Association of Nepal chose 18 cricketers, including Kushal Malla, and gave them central contracts in September 2020. In the final of the Nepal Tri-Nation Series in April 2021, Malla made and scored 50 runs without being bowled, becoming the game’s youngest cricketer to accomplish so.
