Mitchell ‘The Moose’ Hooper is the reigning World’s Strongest Man title holder after winning the competition in 2023. He was born on September 29, 1995, in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, and he is currently 28 years old. During his childhood, he attended a public school called Forest Hill, where he got kicked out after refusing to do any schoolwork. Hooper grew up playing a lot of sports, starting out with hockey, then golf, American football, basketball, and a bunch of other sports.

He is married to wife Ashley with the two meeting on Tinder in 2019. Hooper has a net worth of $1-5 million.

Micthell Hooper strongman career

Before starting out on his strongman journey, Micthell Hooper worked as a strength and conditioning coach for a pro basketball team. However, he took a different path and travelled to Australia to obtain his Masters in Exercise Physiology. While in Australia, he started out powerlifting and even took part in three APU-sanctioned competitions, going on to win all three. Having built a great foundation in powerlifting, he soon moved on to Strongman.

Mitchell started out with lower-level competitions in Australia and eventually went on to win multiple shows. He secured his first major step in Strongman by performing a 475-kilogram (1,047.2-pound) deadlift. After returning to Canada, he could not continue training for Strongman due to the lack of equipment. However, he soon got invited to compete at the 2022 Giants Live Deadlift World Championships. Following which, he was announced as a reserve for the 2022 World’s Strongest Man competition.

Mitchell Hooper finally got the chance to compete in a WSM event when Rauno Heinla withdrew from the competition. He shocked everyone when he qualified for the finals of the 2022 WSM and ultimately finished in eighth place. As a result of his success there, Mitchell Hooper soon earned multiple invites to other major competitions. Mitchell went on to claim podium finishes in various shows, including the Shaw Classic, Arnold UK, Rogue Invitational, and more. Mitchell Hooper then had a standout year in 2023, as he won the Arnold Strongman Classic in his debut as well as the prestigious 2023 World’s Strongest Man competition.
