20-year-old, model Indira Ampiot was born on September 19, 2004, in Basse-Terre, in the Guadeloupe overseas zone and is the fourth woman from the region to win Miss France. She is 5ft 10in tall. Indira’s parents are Didier Ampiot and Beatrice Tejou. Her mother is employed in the social security industry, and her father runs a marketing and communications firm.
Tejou was a previous Miss Basse-Terre 1998 winner and a Miss Guadeloupe 1998 first runner-up. Ampiot’s parents are divorced, and she has an older brother.
Indira is the daughter of Béatrice Téjou, who works in social security, and Didier Ampiot, who owns a communications and marketing agency and her maternal grandfather is of Tamil Indian origin, and her first name means “beauty” in Sanskrit. Her uncle is professional footballer Frédéric Tejou wile Indira’s paternal grandmother is named Raymonde Ampiot.
Indira’s maternal grandfather is Alex Téjou, the son of Guy Téjou and Mireille Laugier and Mirielle was the daughter of Joachim Bernard André Laugier, who was born in Basse-Terre, of part Martiniquais descent; and of Joséphine Hélène Sélambin, who was born in Bailif, to Tamil parents from India.
Indira’s maternal grandmother is Éliane Joyeux. French model Indira is of Indian descent through her maternal grandparents.
Prior to becoming Miss France, Ampiot had intended to study communication in Paris for her post-secondary education, majoring in visual advertising, communication, and design. She received her baccalauréate degree with honors in 2022.

After signing up to compete in Miss Basse-Terre 2022, Indira Ampiot started her pageantry career in 2022. In the end, she emerged victorious in the January 2022 final.
The Miss France 2023 pageant took place in Châteauroux on December 17, 2022. According to the French media, Ampiot was already regarded as one of the favourites to win before the competition even began.
Ampiot made it to the top fifteen and then the top five after competing in the finals. Ampiot was proclaimed the winner at the conclusion of the event. She received numerous awards and privileges as Miss France, such as an unknown monthly stipend, a year-long stay in a lavish Paris apartment, and numerous presents from sponsors.
When Ampiot crowned Eve Gilles as her successor at Miss France 2024 on December 16, 2023, her reign came to an end.
