How did the Maxtern vs. Elvish controversy start?
Social media went crazy when Elvish was seen joking around with rapper and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui during an Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) cricket match, despite their differing political ideologies. The pair was spotted on the field with superstars like Akshay Kumar and Sachin Tendulkar.
Elvish, who was well-known for loudly endorsing Hindutva, came under fire from his fans for his sudden friendship with Munawar. The rapper’s previous remarks on Hindu gods have gotten him into legal trouble. The video of Elvish and Munawar sparked a contentious discussion on social media, which did not sit well with internet users.

Later, Maxtern also jumped onto this ongoing controversy, adding his cynicism by posting a video of Elvish labelling him a “hypocrite.” Elvish threatened Maxtern in response to one of his posts.
A formal complaint was filed against Elvish Yadav for beating Maxtern.
