Who is Max Stanford?
The Frosties-eating champ Max Stanford hails from Brixton and not only holds the reigning title for BEL but is also a charity worker. This 3,529-calorie chunk was downed in just six minutes and eight seconds by the 35-year-old, who is best known for Max vs. Food YouTube videos. If calories didn’t put him off, the whole portion contained around least 370g of sugar content.
Upon winning, he stated “I was really happy to win time because I didn’t think I would be able to do it even faster. It was the first competition of the season so that’s always fun to win. I quite like cereals, because I eat it so fast it didn’t get too soggy. Everyone took a bit longer and the longer it takes the soggier it gets and everyone hates soggy cereal. I picked a good rhythm, I think it was the key to winning.”
Founder of the British Eating League Craig Harker has stated, ‘Max absolutely smashed it. Max is the number one eater in the UK and he’s been off for over a month so he comes back with that sort of time which is unbelievable, it was half the time of second place. Max is dedicated to competitive eating – he’s at the gym every day and he says that the more you train and the better you become at it, like any sport.”
