Who is Mateu Alemany

Mateu Alemany is a Spanish executive who was born on February 24 1963 in Andratx, Balearic Islands, Spain.

He achieved his law degree from the University of the Balearic Islands in 1985. After that, he pursued a master’s in financial accounting.

In addition to being former director of football at FC Barcelona, he served as general director of Valencia CF from 2017 to November 2019. Additionally, he served as president of RCD Mallorca for two terms.

During his tenure as CEO, the club experienced a number of institutional changes, such as the acquisition of the team by Grupo Zeta and the appointment of Antonio Asensio as president. 

Alemany received many plaudits and recognition for his previous work in Barcelona which everyone remembers. 

The former sporting director helped bring in players like Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha ahead of a championship-winning season.
