Octavio Dotel, a former Major League Baseball pitcher who spent at least 13 teams over his 15-year career, was discovered in the Dominican Republic under rubble after the roof of a nightclub collapsed.
Octavio, an ex-MLB player, was discovered death after being trapped beneath the rubble. Rescue operations in relation to the incident were confirmed by investigating officials.

Later, a video related to the incident became viral as well. In it, people can be seen dancing and enjoying music before the roof fell, causing a blackout. A performance by vocalist Rubby Perez was taking place at Jet Set nightclub when the event occurred.

Dotel, who started his 15-year Major League Baseball career in 1999 with the New York Mets, was renowned for his strong strikeout pitching. He later played for an unprecedented 13 different teams, most notably the Houston Astros from 2000 to 2004. His contribution to the St. Louis Cardinals’ 2011 World Series victory marked the pinnacle of his career. Dotel played for the Detroit Tigers in his final Major League Baseball season in 2013. During his career, he was considered by many to be among the best relievers in the league.
Emilio and Maria Magdalena Dotel welcomed Octavio Dotel into the world on November 25, 1973, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Tragic events occurred in November 1993, just after Octavio signed his first contract with the New York Mets, when his father was killed after being robbed while coming home from work in a taxi. The next day, Emilio’s body was discovered five miles from his Santo Domingo house. Three sons and two daughters made up Emilio and Maria’s five children.
