A look at Allah Ghazanfar’s career so far
Fast bowling was Ghazanfar’s initial playing style. Former Afghanistan captain Dawlat Ahmadzai taught him how to spin bowl, and today he is an off-spinner who bowls finger spin, inspired by Ravichandran Ashwin. The young player has made appearances in six List A games and three T20s.
His style of bowling has drawn comparisons to that of Afghan international Mujeeb Zadran. In addition to working with the Afghanistan national under-19 cricket team, Ghazanfar practices at the Mirza Mohammad Katawazai Cricket Centre in Kabul.
Ghazanfar was a part of the Indian Premier League 2023 auction when he was fifteen years old. His base price for the auction was 2,000,000 rupees, and he was the youngest player to enter that year’s auction. However, he went unsold. The 16-year-old has now taken place of injured Mujeeb Ur Rahman for this year’s edition for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
The right-handed batter has represented the Pakistan Junior League’s Rawalpindi Raiders and the Afghan Shpageeza Cricket League’s Mis Ainak Knights. Ghazanfar is a member of the Afghan Shpageeza Cricket League’s Mis Ainak Knights team. He claimed four wickets in his second appearance after taking 1/27 in four overs on his debut.
Despite being included in the draft, he was not chosen for the Big Bash League season of 2022–2023. For the first Nepal T20 League season, he is a member of the Far Western United squad.
He was included in the Afghanistan Under-19 Cricket World Cup roster of fifteen players. He took three wickets for just 29 runs in the match against New Zealand.
