A tragic incident took place on July 10, 2025, when Katelynn Dollar, a record-breaking high school runner and mental health advocate, passed away. She was just 18 years old at the time of her death, and it has left her family and community in shock.
Cause of death
According to official reports, Katelynn battled anxiety and depression and sadly lost her life to suicide. She often posted about her mental health struggles on TikTok and encouraged others to speak up and seek support.

Katelynn was a young and upcoming teenage high school track star who recently passed away. She was known for her vibrant energy and kindness alongside being a talented athlete and dedicated student. Dollar was also an advocate for mental health and often used her TikTok and Instagram accounts to document her training, speak about pressure, and connect with others who were struggling.
Katelynn Mae Dollar, 18, of Canton, GA, passed away on July 10, 2025 after losing her battle with anxiety and depression. Katelynn was born on April 4, 2007 to Charles R (Randy) Dollar ll and Laura Dollar and had a sibling named Sydney as well. She was a dedicated student at Creekview High School, where she excelled in academics and breaking 4 school records in cross country and track.
A celebration of Katelynn’s life was held on Saturday, July 19 at Canton Funeral Home And Cemetery At Macedonia Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention be made in Katelynn’s honor.
She was set to be transferring to Samford University to run in the fall prior to her death.
