Kai-Ji Adam Lo arrest and charges
Police in Vancouver arrested a 30-year-old man named Kai-Ji Adam Lo shortly following an accident during the Lapu Lapu Festival celebrations in the city. The shocking incident took place on Fraser Street, and authorities have since charged him with multiple counts of murder. According to reports, the attack killed eleven people, with victims ranging from a five-year-old child to a 65-year-old adult.

Kai-Ji Adam Lo is a 30-year-old resident of Vancouver and the main suspect in the recent Lapu Lapu festival killings. There is hardly any information available publicly about his background, as he mostly preferred to live a largely private life. Upon inquiry, his neighbors have described him as a “quiet” and “reserved” person. Moreover, official reports indicate no prior criminal record, but he has had several run-ins with the law due to his mental health. Investigators are still digging up his past to uncover potential that could have caused the violent act.
Lo did not have previous criminal charges against him, but a troubled family history which affected his mental health. His brother was murdered last year, and Lo condemned the “senseless act of violence” when he launched a GoFundMe donation campaign for him.
His brother was found dead on 28 January 2024 in a home 2km from where the family lived and Dwight William Kematch, 39, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
In August, 2024 his mother who attempted suicide and needed hospitalization for a month. He “was known” to law enforcement and mental health care professionals prior to the incident and has now been charged with eight counts of second degree murder. Kai is single and unmarried.
