Josiah Kilman murdered
A Campbellsville University freshman named Josiah Kilman was tragically murdered in his dorm at the central Kentucky campus. Josiah Kilman was found unresponsive in his dorm room, when police officers were called in early Saturday. However, when authorities took him to the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Cause of death
According to a state autopsy, Kilman was strangled to death. However, police reports state that the motive behind the murder remains undetermined as of now.

Josiah Kilman was a student at Campbellsville University hailing from Columbia Falls, Montana. Kilman was born in 2005, and he was just 18 years old at the time of his death. He was renowned for his athleticism and leadership skills as a soccer player and wrestler. Josiah was a freshman theology major and a part of the wrestling team from Columbia Falls, Montana.
O’Brien Byrd, who coached Kilman on the soccer field, shared about him, saying:
You know most of us are lucky to say we have one best friend. I would probably say 40, 50 people would say Josiah was their best friend.”
Police arrest murder suspect
Following the tragic murder of Josiah Kilman, state police have arrested Charles Escalera. Escalera was a 21-year-old wrestler and sophomore pre-engineering major from Moore, Oklahoma.
After making the arrest on Saturday evening, authorities lifted the campus lockdown. According to police reports, they carried out the arrests following a report of a suspicious person in a barn. They have arrested Charles on charges of murder and second-degree burglary, with a bond set at $2 million. Police initially found Escalera in a residence, and he later admitted to breaking into it and taking food. As of now, his arraignment has been continued until March 6.
