A consortium led by billionaire Josh Harris, a private equity investor, has reached an agreement in principle to buy the NFL’s Washington Commanders for $6 billion. With this acquisition, Dan Snyder’s time as the team’s owner would come to an end after years of turmoil.

According to unidentified sources cited by the New York Times and Sportico, Harris, who also owns the Philadelphia 76ers and has investments in many NHL teams, agreed to a deal with Snyder as part of a broader consortium that also includes billionaire Mitchell Rales and former NBA star Magic Johnson.

Josh Harris did his schooling at the Field School in Washington, D.C. Later, he earned a Bachelor of Science in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. Later, he also got a master’s degree from Harvard Business School.
