John passed away in Bremen, Germany, just six days after his 40th birthday. Following his tragic death, fellow German wrestler Erkan Sulcani shared the news on Monday, May 20, 2024, on Facebook, stating:

BLOOD BROTHER John Klinger, a few days after his 40th birthday has gone unexpectedly. It doesn’t feel real writing these words. John ‘Bad Bones’ Klinger was already a star when I took my first steps in the wrestling business. He was one of my first role models. Over the years he became a coach, a friend, and a brother.”

John ‘Bad Bones’ Klinger was a German professional wrestler who was born on May 14, 1984, in Bitburg, Germany. He recently passed away on May 20, 2024, at the young age of 40. Klinger wrestled on the international stage across various independent promotions from Europe, England, Japan, Israel, and the United States.

Throughout his career, John Klinger has starred in various movies like Macho Man 3, Beyond Vitality, Progress World Cup 2018, and Bad Bones: The Psycho. Notably, Bad Bones featured in a match just nine days ago against ex-WWE superstar Flash Morgan Webster at the PWT’s ‘Total Blast From The Past’ event.

Klinger debuted on the Independent Circuit back in 2004 and won various titles like the wXw Unified World Heavyweight Championship and European Heavyweight Championship.  Back in 2011, John Klinger gained prominence after winning the TNA tryout program, TNA Gut Check. Klinger later got to fight in several matches for the company, including a memorable dark match with Christopher Daniels in February 2014. Despite being an independent wrestler throughout his career, he made several appearances for TNA between 2011 and 2017. He last fought in TNA alongside Samoa Joe to beat Daniels and Robbie E. Klinger in 2017.
