Who is Johannes Spors?

Johannes Spors is a football scout coach who was born on August 17, 1982. The 41-year-old is the Sporting Director for 777 Football Group and is overseeing all athletic operations at the group level and working closely with each club’s sporting director. 

The German started working as an analyst with former Manchester United interim coach Ralf Ragnick in 2006 at Hoffenheim, a German club. As a student in Heidelberg, he received a request to make a video analysis for Hoffenheim.

He was in charge of the first-team match analysis department for five years before taking over the scouting section. He moved to RB Leipzig, another Bundesliga team, in 2015 to take over as head of recruitment, following his compatriot.  

Spors was previously head of recruitment at RB Leipzig, but he is currently working for 777. He held his first sporting director post with Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands before moving to Genoa to work with 777.

Since the start of the year 2022, he has served as Genoa’s general manager. Additionally, was the first German sporting director in Serie A and the first in the Eredivisie. This was not it. At 38, he was the Eredivisie’s youngest sporting director and the only one without experience as a professional player.

Ashworth helped Newcastle reach the Champions League this season while working within the limits of profit-and-sustainability regulations under the club’s wealthy Saudi owners. Eddie Howe’s team can still finish in the European places this season and are currently in sixth place in the Premier League.
