At the young age of 21, Asahi, who made her debut at just 14 for Ice Ribbon wrestling in the renowned Korakuen Hall, passed away. Her inaugural match against All Japan Women’s Champion Manami Toyota was a remarkable feat that showcased her talent from the beginning.

The tragic news was announced by the Actwres girl’Z promotion in Japan, revealing that Asahi had succumbed to an unexpected accident. Although details about the incident were not initially disclosed, there were speculations of a potential car accident.

However, no official confirmation has been provided. In response to the heartbreaking news, the promotion decided to cancel the scheduled February 9 Shinkiba performance, with plans to share further updates later.

Asahi’s Final Match 

Asahi took a hiatus in 2020 during the pandemic, juggling her commitments in both sports and education. Despite this break, she made a triumphant return to wrestling in 2021.

After concluding her contract with Ice Ribbon last year, she opted to join Actwres girl’Z. Initially on a three-month loan, Asahi eventually transitioned to a full-time commitment. Her final match took place on January 31, partnered with Yufa to defeat Ayano Irie and Kira An.

The Actwres girl’Z promotion, where Asahi was actively involved, confirmed her unexpected passing on February 1. Expressing deep sorrow, they canceled their upcoming show on February 9, emphasizing their gratitude to everyone who supported Asahi.

Fans mourned the loss of this “beam of sunshine” in the wrestling world. Asahi’s wrestling journey began at the age of 14 with Ice Ribbon, where she faced the former All Japan Women’s Champion Manami Toyota.

Over the years, she wrestled for various promotions across Japan, including Ganbare Pro and DREAM. After a hiatus in 2020 to focus on academics, she returned to the ring in 2021. In 2023, she made the decision to end her contract with Ice Ribbon and permanently join Actwres girl’Z.

Standing at 4 ft. 11 in. (150 cm) and weighing 106 lbs (48 kg), age 21 Asahi hailed from Gunma, Japan. She made her debut on August 27, 2017, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by wrestling fans worldwide.
