Reportedly, Isack Hadjar will step onto the F1 grid in 2025 season after securing the final seat as Yuki Tsunoda’s teammate. This announcement concludes F1 “silly season,” with Isack Hadjar replacing Liam Lawson, who moves up to Red Bull racing to partner Max Verstappen.

Who is Isack Hadjar?

Born on September 28, 2004, in Paris in an Algerian Muslim family of physicians, Isack Hadjar, whose full name is Alexandre Isack Hadjar is a French-Algerian racing driver, who previously competed in the FIA 2 Championship for Campos.

His father, Yassine Hadjar, was also a kart mechanic. He holds dual French and Algerian citizenship. Hadjar initially grew fond of motorsport after watching the Pixar animated movie Cars.

His mother Randa Hadjar guides his career as his manager while his father, a research scientist with a doctorate degree in quantum physics, Yassine Hadjar also drove in amateur-level endurance racing and helped his son test a kart at the S-Kart circuit near Paris’s Porte de la Chapelle at the age of six.

Additionally, the teenager also served as a F1 reserve driver for Red Bull Racing. Standing at 167 cm (5 feet 4 inches) tall, Hadjar began karting competitively at the tender age of 7, when his parents bought him a go-kart.

His passion for motorsports was sparked after watching the animated movie “Cars,” and it grew stronger as he followed Formula One. His father, a kart mechanic, supported his journey from the national karting championship to international competitions.

Hadjar is the first Red Bull junior to graduate directly from F2 to F1 since 2020 third-place finisher Tsunoda did so in 2021 and the 72nd French driver in F1.

Hadjar has been the reserve driver for Red Bull Racing since September 2024 and the 20-year-old graduates to F1 off the back of finishing second in the 2024 F2 season, 22.5 points behind eventual champion and fellow F1 graduate Gabriel Bortoleto. After a trying rookie season with Hitech GP in 2023, Hadjar switched to Campos Racing and became the team’s most successful driver in the second tier, finishing the season with four wins, four additional podiums and 192 points.

The driver, whose car number is 20 began his single-seater career in 2019 with the French F4 Championship, where he won a race at Spa and emerged 7th overall. He returned to the series in 2020, improving to third place with 3 victories, 8 podiums, and 2 pole positions.

In the same year, he also competed in the F4 UAE Championship 2020 during the winter, finishing 11th. A year later, he graduated to the Formula Regional European Championship, achieving multiple victories and placing 5th in his rookie season.

In 2023, Hadjar made his Formula 1 free practice debut at the Mexico City Grand Prix 2023. With his promotion at RB, he now becomes the 19th driver to F1 through Red Bull’s junior program.

Citizenship and Net Worth

Beyond racing, Hadjar holds dual French and Algerian citizenship. His family background in medicine contrasts with his motorsport career. Isack Hadjar’s net worth is estimated to be $500,000 million but his salary isn’t known.
