The victim, a resident of Indore, met the accused, Vaibhav Shukla of Kanpur on Instagram in 2021 where Shukla promised marriage if the victim underwent gender reassignment surgery.

After undergoing the s*x change operation, the victim was devastated to find that Vaibhav Shukla had broken his promise. Not only did Shukla refuse to marry him, but he also subjected the victim to unnatural acts. Feeling betrayed and helpless, the victim decided to seek justice and approached the Vijay Nagar police to file a complaint.
The victim expressed deep distress, stating, “I underwent gender reassignment surgery at Shukla’s insistence, trusting in his promise to marry me. However, he not only reneged on his promise but also subjected me to unnatural acts.” The victim also highlighted the financial burden of the surgery and urged the authorities to take strict action against Shukla. The identity of the man from Kanpur isn’t known yet.
Police investigation
Following the complaint, Vaibhav Shukla was charged under IPC Sections 377 (unnatural s*x) and 506 (criminal intimidation) by the Vijay Nagar police. The police confirmed that the victim and the accused were in a relationship and Shukla had threatened the victim with dire consequences after he refused to go ahead with the marriage plans.
Efforts are currently underway to trace and arrest Vaibhav Shukla, who is currently on the run. The police assured that they are actively investigating the case to ensure that the accused is brought to justice.
