Who Was DSP Surendra Singh Bishnoi?

Surendra Singh Bishnoi was a brave and honest police officer who got martyred recently after being killed by an illegal mining gang on Monday in Nuh’s Pachgaon.

He was from Sarangpur Village in the Hisar District of Haryana. In Harayana Police, he was posted as the deputy superintendent of police (DSP). Later this year, Bishnoi was scheduled to retire. His date of birth isn’t known but he was aged between 50-60 years. He was married and had children but his family’s details are not disclosed.

His Career

DSP Surendra Singh Bishnoi was a VLDA (veterinary and livestock development assistant) before joining the police force. He had enlisted in the police force in 1994 as an assistant sub-inspector (ASI).

According to Naresh Kumar, a spokesman for the Kurukshetra Police, DSP Surender Singh worked in the Kurukshetra district as a DSP from 1994 to 2014. DSP Surender oversaw the security branch, the crime branch, and the house officer at Ladwa police station in Kurukshetra.

Later, from August 17, 2019, to June 23, 2020, he was assigned as DSP Shahabad; at present, he is assigned to Nuh.

How did DSP Surendra Singh Bishnoi Die?

When Surendra Singh Bishnoi, a DSP rank officer in the Haryana Police, attempted to halt the illegal stone mining in Nuh on Tuesday, he was struck and killed by a truck carrying stones.

At 11.50 am, Singh and his colleagues were on their way to the Pachgaon region near Tauru to conduct operations to combat illicit mining in the Aravalli highlands when they came across the vehicle.

The dumper truck had been ordered to stop so he could verify paperwork. However, the car sped up and ran him over. The gunman for the officer and his driver ran off to safety, but the DSP was wounded. When he arrived at the hospital, the physicians pronounced him dead.

An officer reported that police teams are conducting raids to apprehend the truck driver.

Funeral Details Of DSP Surendra Singh Bishnoi

In his native village of Saharanpur, in the district of Hisar, his last rites will be performed.

Compensation Received By His Family

Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, announced on Tuesday that the family of DSP Surendra Singh Bishnoi would receive compensation in the amount of Rs 1 crore and that the perpetrators would not escape punishment. The officer’s relatives will also be given a job by the government.
