The England midfielder Bellingham was fined 40,000 euros (£34,000) in 2021 while he was a player for Borussia Dortmund for bringing up the referee’s prior match-fixing suspension.

Zwayer was penalized to a six-month ban in 2005 following an investigation into his acceptance of a £250 bribe from official Robert Hoyzer.

The allegations by the now Real Madrid player came after Dortmund’s 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich. Dortmund’s opponents were awarded a spot-kick by the referee during the match, but no penalty was given to them.
