England fans might not be happy as a referee, who was once involved in a scandal with Jude Bellingham has been appointed to officiate the Englishmen’s match.
Three years ago, Bellingham made an allegation of match-fixing against the referee Felix Zwayer, who was going to officiate England’s Euro 2024 semi-final match against the Netherlands.

The England midfielder Bellingham was fined 40,000 euros (£34,000) in 2021 while he was a player for Borussia Dortmund for bringing up the referee’s prior match-fixing suspension.

Zwayer was penalized to a six-month ban in 2005 following an investigation into his acceptance of a £250 bribe from official Robert Hoyzer.
The allegations by the now Real Madrid player came after Dortmund’s 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich. Dortmund’s opponents were awarded a spot-kick by the referee during the match, but no penalty was given to them.

Who is Felix Zwayer?
Felix Zwayer is a German football referee who was born on May 19, 1981, in Berlin, Germany. The 43-year-old is also a real estate broker and is a Berlin Football Association referee for SC Charlottenburg.
The German has been ranked as a UEFA elite-level referee in addition to being a FIFA official. He began officiating on DFB level in 2004. Following his promotion, in 2007, he was given assignments as the 2. Bundesliga and Bundesliga’s assistant referee.
Zwayer once again received a promotion to the position of official for the 2009–10 Bundesliga season within two years.
On April 30, 2018, it was announced by FIFA that Zwayer will represent as an official at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. This resulted in him being the first FIFA World Cup referee to use video assistant technology.
He officiated the Croatia vs. Spain 2023 UEFA Nations League Final on June 18, 2023. Additionally, on July 10, 2024, he is slated to officiate the England vs. Netherlands UEFA Euro semi-final.
Time with his wife and two daughters aged six and three helps Zwayer relax at home and he is a lover of all sports and a keen badminton player.
