Cavallin told UOL that on June 1, 2022, while she was pregnant and on vacation in Brazil, Antony attacked her for the first time. She claimed Antony assaulted her, forced her into a car, and threatened to hurl her out the window of the swiftly moving car. She told UOL:
He said that if I didn’t stay with him, I wouldn’t stay with anyone. I told him that I was pregnant, that he was scaring me, making my heart race. I was shaking with fear.”
Who is Gabriela Cavallin?
Gabriela Cavallin was born on October 31, 2000. She works as a model, DJ, and social media influencer. With Brazilian musicians like MC Brisola, MC Topre, and MC Hariel, she has worked as a DJ.
In 2022, news of the couple’s relationship broke. In both Brazil and the UK, Gabriela has filed lawsuits against the footballer. For around two years, from 2021 to 2023, Cavallin and Antony had an on-and-off romance. While Antony was a player for Ajax and they were living together in Amsterdam, they began dating.
Gabriela reported Antony to the police in So Paulo for domestic abuse on July 5, 2023. When Gabriela was approximately 17 weeks pregnant with his child, she claimed the first assault occurred at a nightclub in the Brazilian city.
Only a few days after Man Utd fired Mason Greenwood as a result of his arrest for assault and for engaging in controlling and abusive behaviour towards his ex-girlfriend Harriet Robson; charges that were later dropped; she made fresh allegations of abuse.
The influencer released a letter from her legal team on September 4, 2023. It read:
“Gabriela Cavallin’s defence, in view of the facts and evidence that became public knowledge on this date, regarding the repeated episodes of aggression suffered by her, informs that she trusts the serious and competent investigation by the Civil Police of São Paulo.
“[And] hopes that, as such, once completed, the aggressor will be prosecuted and punished for the crimes he committed.”
The same evening, Antony released a statement in which he claimed he was “obligated” to speak up “out of respect for my fans, friends, and family.”
Following a June statement, the 23-year-old footballer once more refuted the allegations of domestic abuse.
