Christopher Wray education and career
Christopher Wray, whom President Trump selected as the FBI director in 2017 was part of the Corporate Fraud Task Force during his time in the administration. He played a key role in prosecuting executives from Enron Corp. for fraud and led anti-terrorism initiatives after the 9/11 attacks.
Wray earned his bachelor’s degree from Yale University in 1989 and later obtained a law degree from Yale in 1993.
In June 2017, Trump picked Christopher Wray to be the FBI director. Trump praised Wray, saying he had excellent credentials. Later, Trump issued a full statement by expressing confidence that Wray with his strong qualifications, would serve as a dedicated protector of the law and uphold integrity once the Senate confirmed him for the FBI leadership.
When Christopher Wray was nominated, he revealed that he was eager to serve the American people with integrity, leading an exceptional team dedicated to protecting the country. In July 2017, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to approve Wray as the FBI director.
In his confirmation hearing, Christopher Wray assured the Senate that his loyalty lies solely with the Constitution and the rule of law. The Senate confirmed him with a vote of 92-5.
