Who is Stuart Gray?
Stuart Edward Grey was a football player who was born in December 1973 in Harrogate, England. He represented Reading and Celtic as a full-back.
The 50-year-old was born in England and has seven caps for the Scotland Under-21 team. In 1989, Grey signed with Celtic as a schoolboy S-former, and in 1990, at the age of sixteen, he followed many others to become a groundstaff member.
After playing football for youth and reserve teams, he was cut loose to join Giffnock Park North AFC. He nearly made the first team when the 1991–1992 season came to an end, and he was awarded a new two-year deal.
In October of the next year, a groin strain ended his 1992–93 season, although he made his debut the following season in a single matchup against Aberdeen. During the 1993–94 campaign, he requested a loan relocation south of the border. In February, he played a spell on loan at AFC Bournemouth before making a comeback to the reserve team.
At the beginning of the 1994–95 season, he had no contract and was being pursued by Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers, who both signed month-to-month agreements. On January 27, 1995, he finally signed a new contract, stating that he would quit if he did not play more football for the first team.
After being on loan to Rushden & Diamonds, Grey became a full-time member of the team in January 2001 and was let go at the conclusion of the 2004–05 season. He joined Oxford United and played for them for ten games.
Stuart Gray hailed from a footballing family
