An eerie image of a former high school hockey star who died in a climbing accident has surfaced, know about the accident of Emmalynn Herbstritt in Utah

On Saturday, November 12, Emmalynn Herbstritt died after falling to her death while canyoneering at Morning Glory Arch in Moab, Utah.

The 21-year-old canyoneering tour guide was discovered unresponsive at the scene and later pronounced dead. Herbstritt’s former hockey teammates paid tribute to the athlete after learning of her passing. However, the authorities have not yet released any additional information about the incident.

The Utah High School hockey team released a statement on Facebook saying, “The entire Utah hockey community mourns the loss of Emmalynn Herbstritt to a rock climbing accident in Moab Utah.”

“Hockey and the outdoors were two of Emmalynn’s great loves. She participated in numerous seasons of play for the Utah Junior Grizzlies and Lady Grizzlies. She started out playing high school hockey for Brighton as a freshman before switching to East until she graduated. She won the Art Teece Lady MVP award in 2019 and served as an alternate captain for East.” 

Added in the post: “Emmalynn is the daughter of Bryan and Misty Herbstritt, who have both served on the state board of Utah hockey for countless hours. Currently, Misty serves as the vice president of Utah High School Hockey. Bentley, a senior for the Salt Lake Stars, and Audrey both had an older sister named Emmalynn. We shall miss Emmalynn a lot.”

The Sun stated that a photo of Herbstritt, who is an expert in canyoneering, smiling in what looks to be a canyon and surrounded by bicycles, that was posted to his Facebook page on June 11 has since gone viral. She captioned the photo, “Heat + Nature + Adrenaline Rush Activities = The BEST Summer!” The National Park Service describes canyoneering as involving route finding, rappelling, thinking creatively, swimming, and trekking. Young Herbstritt was, as was previously noted, discovered unresponsive at the location on Saturday and later confirmed dead.
