Emily Armstrong bio
Emily Marcia Armstrong is an American singer, songwriter, and musician, who was born on May 6, 1986, in Los Angeles. She started out writing songs and playing the guitar when she was 11 and eventually began singing when she was 15. Emily, dropped out of high school to pursue a full-time music career. The 38-year-old cofounded the band โDead Saraโ in 2005 and she will now join Linkin Park as their new co-lead vocalist, replacing Chester Bennington, who passed away in 2017.
Armstrong was a Scientologist as she was seen at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre 44th Anniversary Gala in 2013.
She is currently single and unmarried but in 2016, she was in a relationship with model and Instagram star Kate Harrison.
Linkin Park announces new lead co-vocalist
Linkin Park on Thursday, announced the appointment of their new lead singer Emily Armstrong, who will replace their deceased frontman, Chester Benington. The band also announced their plans to reform and play their first series of shows following the tragic death of Chester in 2017. Alongside the news, the band also announced the release of a new album, titled โFrom Zeroโ, their first list of new song in seven years. Their new title โThe Emptiness Machine,โ features the groupโs new members, Colin Brittain on drums as well as Emily Armstrong.
Emily Armstrong controversy
While many fans have openly welcomed Armstrongโs inclusion, it has sparked with all kinds of controversies. Many fans posted their backlash against the singer against her alleged links to the Church of Scientology. Some fans also pointed out her alleged support for convicted rapist Danny Masterson.
Back in 2013, Emily was photographed at the churchโs โcelebrity centerโ in Hollywood during an event. While Armstrongโs connection with the organization remains unclear, her alleged support for โThat 70s Show actorโ Danny Masterson also sparked concerns from fans. Danny was convicted back in 2023 on two counts of rape. A blog described Armstrong as one of โMastersonโs longtie friendsโ.
