The execution of Donald David Dillbeck has been carried out at the Florida State Prison in Raiford. Death was pronounced at 6:13PM local time. The execution occurred without incident.

At the age of six, father of Donald David Dillbeck left his family and his mother was an alcoholic. He was placed in numerous foster homes until he was 15 years old.
On the 11th of April 1979, Dillbeck who was a high school dropout and runaway was sitting inside a stolen car at a closed park at a beach in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Someone made a suspicious person complain about this, and Lee County deputy Lynn Hall arrived and questioned him. He ran from the car and Hall chased and caught him on foot.
During a struggle followed, Dillbeck grabbed Hall’s gun and shot him dead. He got arrested and, on the 6th of June, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. On the 7th of February 1983, Dillbeck escaped from prison and was recaptured. For this, he was sentenced a one year and one day in prison.
Later on, he was given a 25-year mandatory minimum sentence and put in a lower-security facility, where he was disciplined several times, including for attempted assault in early 1984 and drinking intoxicants later in 1985.
On the 22nd of June, in 1990, Dillbeck was working with other inmates on a catering function that was held at Quincy vocational center. He walked away and then ended up in Tallahassee, where Dillbeck stole a paring knife.
On 24th June, Dillbeck approached a woman who was named Faye Vann in her vehicle at the parking lot situated in the Tallahassee Mall. With a knife, he attempted to carjack her, and she resisted.
He stabbed her repeatedly and then he ended up killing her badly. The vehicle crashed in the parking lot, and he fled on the foot. Donald got chased by a mall security guard. First reports at emergency number 911 and reported of a car crash and then stabbing. Dillbeck was later arrested in a nearby backyard.
