Mister Cee or DJ Mister Cee, real name Calvin LeBrun, was a professional American DJ who was born on August 17, 1966, in New York, New York, United States. He was just 57 years old at the time of his passing. Aside from working as a DJ, he also worked as a broadcaster, record executive, and radio personality on New York’s famous Radio 103.9. Mister Cee was also known by other popular names, like The Finisher and The Wallop King.

As a family at HOT 97 and WBLS, we’re deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved Mister Cee. He wasn’t just a DJ; he was a pillar of our stations, bringing joy to countless listeners with his legendary Throwback at Noon and Friday Night Live sets.”

Peter Rosenberg, who also works on Hot 97, paid tribute to his former colleague on X, stating:
We have lost the iconic Mister Cee. I listened to him yesterday and am in complete shock. He was a dear friend to all of us, a wonderful man, and one of the most important and impactful DJs of all time. I love you Cee.”
Music career
Cee led the Set It Off Show on Sirius XM’s Rock the Bells Radio channel. He also went around DJ’ing at various parties all over the tri-state area for decades. Notably, Mister Cee was the DJ behind Big Daddy Kane’s Long Live the Kane debut album. Moreover, he most famously played major role in the early chapters of the late Notorious B.I.G’s career.
When Bad Boy President Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs signed Biggie for his debut, Mister Cee came on board as the associate executive producer. Notably, in 2014, Cee became the first person to play Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” on the radio, helping New Jersey in his meteoric rise.
