Since 1966, the Netherlands’ province of Limburg has hosted the annual Amstel Gold Race, a one-day classic road cycling competition.

The women’s race is scheduled for the same day as the men’s and differs only in that it has a slightly shorter distance (157 km) while men’s distance measures 255.2 km.
When and where will the Amstel Gold Race 2024 be held?
The The Amstel Gold Race will be held on April 14th, Sunday which will start from Maastricht, Netherlands and will end in Berg en Terblijt, Netherlands.
Amstel Gold Race 2024 men’s and women’s route
The course for the Amstel Gold Race this year leaves from Maastricht and travels north to Sittard. From the outset, the race is characterised by its twists, turns, and steep hills. The peloton encounters its first of 33 climbs after just 12km of riding.
The path then turns about and heads back south, circling around Limburg’s mountainous terrain, quickly moving from one ascent to the next. The second part of the race features three of the most significant climbs: the Cauberg, Keutenberg, and Eyserbosweg.
Making their way through the Franse Steeg safely is the last obstacle before reaching the broad finale. The same brutal climbs that give this race its explosive nature still greet the women’s peloton as they ride from Maastricht to Berg en Terblijt in Valkenburg.
