Defence of @svaradarajan & @mkvenu1 gang that they were misled by Devesh Kumar (@onosmosis) is laughably absurd. Here is how.
1) Presuming for original story (byline of Varadarjan & @jahnavi_sen) Devesh Kumar misled them..
2) But what about subsequent forgery & fabrication? 2/5— Akhilesh Mishra (@amishra77) October 31, 2022
Who is Devesh Kumar? – A good storyteller.
In his 2016 blogpost, he had claimed to have adopted a babygirl from a dead mother and HIV+ parents, while he was 19 and unmarried.

In an interview Siddharth Varadarajan had stated, ‘Devesh Kumar was the only person to meet the source as Meta.’
Devesh Kumar Latest News
On the 23rd of October The Wire had retracted the articles and began a review of its reporting and editorial processes. Without naming Devesh Kumar The Wire had earlier stated, ‘it had been deceived by a member of its investigative team. On 27th of October, the news website issued a public apology.’
The Wire had claimed that the chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Information Technology cell Amit Malviya has special privileges through an Instagram program called as the X-Check that makes sure that any posts he reports are removed from the platform immediately with “no questions asked”. It is done even if they do not violate Meta’s rules. Meta is the parent firm of Instagram.
The Wall Street Journal reported in September of 2021 that X-Check protects at least 5.8 million “high-profile accounts” such as celebrities, politicians and journalists from the Meta content takedown procedure that apply to ordinary users. On October 11 Andy Stone Meta’s communications director said, ‘The Wire’s report was based on false information. He said that the X-Check system had nothing to do with the ability to report posts.’
He also stated that the “posts in question were surfaced by reviewing automated systems not humans and that an internal report of Instagram cited by The Wire’s source appears to be fabricated”. The news website was booked by the Delhi Police on Saturday based on a complaint that was reported by Malviya and his complaint did not mention the name of Kumar.
The Wire’s on Tek Fog was also co-authored by Kumar. It was the purported application that the BJP used to automate the retweeting of posts on Twitter and stored all the databases of private citizens for targeted harassment and hijack inactive WhatsApp accounts. Tek Fog reports were removed along with Meta ones.
Devesh Kumar deleted all his social media accounts after the complaint was filed against him.
