Avinash Kumar and Poonam Gupta set to marry at Rashtrapati Bhavan
Indian CRPF officer named Avinash Kumar is all set to get married at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of Droupadi Murmu, the President of India. Avinash and his fiancée will reportedly tie the knot on February 12, 2025.
According to reports, President Droupadi Murmu granted permission to Poonam Gupta to get married at the venue because of her “dedication, professionalism, and strict code of conduct” throughout her service. She is currently posted as PSO at the President House and notably led the all-women contingent at the 74th Republic Day Parade.
Rashtrapati Bhavan
The Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and stands as the world’s second-largest residence of a state head. It stands over a 300-acre estate, featuring four floors and about 340 rooms. The building also has inside it the famous Amrit Udyan, a museum, the Gantantra Mandap, Ashoka Mandap, as well as a copper-faced dome.
Rajagopalachari, who served as the first Governor-General of Independent India, notably became the first Indian to live at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in 1948. Over the years, it has served as the official residence of many presidents and hosted several high-profile international politicians.

Avinash Kumar aka Avnish is an Indian CRPF Assistant Commandant who is currently stationed in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. He is all set to tie the knot with his partner and fellow CRPF officer Poonam Gupta at the Rashtrapti Bhavan’s Mother Teresa Crown Complex. According to reports, only their close family members and friends will attend the ceremony.
Poonam Gupta bio
Poonam Gupta, is also an CRPF Assistant Commandant who hails from Madhya Pradesh. She is currently posted at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the security of the president and has previously served as an assistant commandant at Bihar’s Naxal-affected zone. Poonam graduated with a degree in Mathematics, following which she pursued her post-graduation in English literature. She then obtained a B.Ed. degree, before applying and clearing the 2018 UPSC CAPF exam, securing an 81 rank.
Poonam Gupta, a resident of Shivpuri, will get married at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on 12th February. Only close people of both the families will be present in this wedding ceremony and her husband Avnish Kumar is also an Assistant Commandant in CRPF with him posted in Jammu and Kashmir.
CRPF’s female assistant commandant Poonam Gupta is posted as PSO of the current President Draupadi Murmu and on her request, the Mother Teresa Crown Complex of Rashtrapati Bhavan is being made available for Poonam’s wedding.
Poonam is the daughter of Raghuveer Gupta, Office Superintendent posted in Navodaya Vidyalaya. Her DOB and height aren’t known.
