Wesley Barresi, a seasoned Dutch cricket player, has been recalled for the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and the Netherlands that will start on August 16, 2022, in Rotterdam. The 38-year-old, who last competed in international cricket in June 2019, is now back.

Who Is Wesley Barresi?
Wesley Barresi is a seasoned Dutch cricketer. He has recently been in the news because he was selected for the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and the Netherlands which marks his comeback to international cricket after announcing his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2021.
He was born on 3 May 1984 in Johannesburg, South Africa. From 2004 to 2006, he played for South Africa. However, he later shifted to Netherland. That’s why he now plays cricket for the Netherlands team.
He is a former first-class and Netherlands international cricketer. While playing cricket, he is a right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman. Apart from this, he also bowls right-arm off-break.
His Career
Wesley Barresi started his career by playing domestic cricket in South Africa. He played for Easterns in seven games between 2004 and 2006, making his first-class debut in a Provincial Cup game with 57 runs. Following that, he relocated to the Netherlands and play cricket there.
In 2010 against Scotland, Barresi played his first game for the Netherlands. In nearly 70 games across all forms, he has 1700 runs. He spent a large portion of that decade as one of the Netherlands’ most dependable hitters. In a World Cup qualifier in Lincoln in 2013–14, he recorded an unbeaten 137 against Kenya.
Wesley Barresi excelled in one-day cricket, scoring six half-centuries and a century while amassing 927 runs at an average of 35.69. Barresi’s maiden T20I match was against Canada in March 2012. Due to his slow start, Barresi initially found it hard to adjust to this style.
He was a member of the Netherlands’ One Day International (ODI) team for their series against Nepal in July 2018. The International Cricket Council (ICC) identified him as the main player for the Netherlands going into the ODI matches.
He was chosen to represent the Amsterdam Knights in the first-ever Euro T20 Slam cricket competition in July 2019. However, the competition was postponed.
Wesley Barresi slowly fades away from the game. As a result of this, he declared his retirement from all forms of cricket in February 2021. However, he is now coming back he has been selected for three-match ODI series against Pakistan. Have a look at his career statistics:
