24-year-old New Jersey resident Hadi Matar has recently been in the news because he stabbed the famous novelist Salman Rushdie
Salman Rushdie, a well-known novelist, was stabbed numerous times on stage at a literary festival in the US on Friday. He is still being supported by a ventilator in a US hospital.
Since he produced numerous contentious books, the British author, who was born in Mumbai, had been targetted by Islamists from all over the world. He is now in a hospital battling for his life after being attacked by Hadi Matar, 24, a native of New Jersey, at the event at the Chautauqua Institution in Western New York.

Who Is Hadi Matar?
Hadi Matar is an Islamist who has recently been in the news because he stabbed the famous novelist Salman Rushdie in broad daylight.
He is from Fairview, New Jersey. He is just 24 years old.
A law enforcement official with firsthand knowledge of the inquiry told NBC News that Matar’s social media profiles had initially revealed to authorities that he was sympathetic to Shia radicalism and the objectives of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
He was also inspired by Ayatollah Khomeini, the biggest leader of the Shia sect of Islam and Iran. He was also sympathetic to Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in an operation by the US.
He has a fake driving licence.
How Did He Stab Salman Rushdie?
When Rushdie was stabbed on Friday, Matar was invited to the conference where “The Golden House” author was scheduled to speak. He stabbed the author on Friday, just days before the publication of the author’s new book, “Victory City.”
The perpetrator Hadi Matar allegedly stepped onto the stage and held Rushdie, according to witnesses. He stabbed him “10–15 times on stage,” according to an AP journalist. The author was rushed to the hospital and had surgery after becoming well-known for his fourth novel, “The Satanic Verses.”
Why Did Hadi Matar Stab Salman Rushdie?
The inquiry is still in its early stages, and there is no evidence of motivation at this time, according to New York police.
